A moveable feast

The Jane Eyre

Demure yet alluring. You’re no plain Jane in this dress. And the black leather gloves add just the right touch of the whip to keep all those Mr. Rochesters in line.  And they will be lining up to sit by you, oh so special you.

The Psyche

Inamorata of Eros. Every Venus in the dining room will spill her wine with envy when you make your appearance. But it will make no difference. No beauty secret can revive them. But you? One glance from your eyes promises passion and a delectable dinner for two. At your place? At his? Does it matter? The entree is always delicious. And so is the dessert.
The Hester Prynne

No faint-hearted reverends for you and no scarlet A’s either. You wear your allure with aplomb. Don this dress for dinner and no man there will care to eat a peach. Why should he when you sit so tantilizingly close by?
The Anna Karenina

No deadly detours by train for you. You enter the dining room and he turns pale with desire. But you? You glance at the grapes and you glance across the room at someone else. He'll be sitting alone

A night at the opera

Fashions to Faint for is proud to present its 2012 Winter Collection of opera coats.  Unlike other fashion houses, we do not feature swim wear in the chill midwinter.  Such behavior is not kind.  If it is winter, if there is an opera, then the well-dressed socialite must have an opera coat.

The Snow Maiden

Rimsky-Korsakov might have composed his opera with this coat in mind. This exquisite brown silk velvet opera coat with white fox collar and hand-embroidered appliques brings to mind the romance of la belle epoque. A lovely coat to inflame the heart of any lover who is watching you through his opera glasses.

The Elixir of Love

When the audience sees you in this alluring opera coat, they will know Donizetti wrote his opera for you. This lovely blue wrap of cut velvet and silk looks as if it might have come straight from a Klimt painting. A Klimt drunk on the elixir of love for you.

The Tosca

They will be leaping off the balcony when they see you in this Puccini-inspired opera coat. Its golden velvet body and burnished fur collar says to the audience, “Look, pine hopelessly, and weep . . . for this coat you do not have. It is mine. He is mine. The world is mine.

The Otello

Desdemona may have lost her handkerchief and come to a tragic end, but you are too clever by far.  In this sophisticated ensemble you will intimidate all but that most discriminating homme du monde.
